Favourites Cup and unexpected FOTD

Remember the movie Practical Magic? With Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman? I watched it last night after reading the book that I dug up at a second hand bookstore. It still has to be one of my favourite films, I love it, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.

I have a little china tea cup that is always in my bathroom. It really doesn't seem to have a purpose, it just lives in my bathroom, so I will put it to use and dub it my Favourites Cup.

I missed a game 6 look, too busy :( But I am really pleased with this one.
I wanted a really grungy, messy look. All the others were so clean and nicely blended and such...this look is very dirty... I like it.

Canucks Game 5 Makeup

I feel like this ended it up looking a little '90's ghetto. What with the dark lip, defined eyebrows, and Canucks tuque:

This look really makes you take your brows into account. Which I am not happy with at the moment.
I think out of my entire routine, my brows are the feature that I struggle with the most. Even though they are the most important.

After such a disappointing loss on Monday I though I should do a bit of a tough look for the next game, we have a black and blue smokey eye, with green glitter;

This series is sure testing my skills, which I like. It is good practice.

Canucks Game 3 Makeup

A pinup inspired white cut crease with blue and green;

I am really happy with this look, although it is appearing really blue in the pictures..it is more defined in real life. This was my first cut crease!

I knew I wanted to use a matte white for this look but I really didn't want to go buy a bunch of highend makeup. I went to the drugstore and started swatching whites, I ended up buying one from NYC, because it was the best I could find, but when I got home I knew it wouldn't work for this look.

 THEN, I remembered Wet n Wild! I rushed out and bought their Pride palette and not only does it have a fantastic matte white, but it has greens and blues I can use for this series too. They should rename it Canucks Pride palette. ;)

Canucks Game 2 Makeup

Here is the second look for the Stanley Cup finals:

 Okay these lashes are insane!!
Up close they look like classic drag queen falsies. Huge and obvious, definately not very wearable. After I put them on, I regretted it. I felt like they ruined the look, even though it is meant to be fun.

BUT, they photograph amazing!!! Is it just me or what?? They don't look as silly and infact they give a more sexy, dreamy, pinup look. I am dumbfounded. These lashes will require more thought and perhaps more use (for photographic purposes of course)

The perfect light smokey eye?

I created this look,

Ahhh, this pic doesn't do it justice!

using the Pop Beauty palette in Smokey Eyes:

The shadows in this kit are great, they aren't deadly pigmented which I like for this light smokey eye as sometimes I can get a little crazy with the colours and end up having solid shadow from my lid to brow. (heh heh) Gorgeous!

Eyes:

I used:
 -1 in the inner corner and as a brow highlight.
-2 all over the lid
-3 crease
-4 darken up the outer V, and on the lower lashline

okay, today's look is really dramatic. The liner ended up being a lot more intense than I planned..but you know I'll rock it.

I will be doing a brand review on Feenix Mineral Cosmetics in the near future. I have had their stuff for quite a  while but haven't been able to make my mind up about them. 

So... off to watch the hockey game in a bit here with the bf and until then, doing some Calculus. fun fun fun

Happy St. Patty's Day!!

I hope you are all having a wonderful day and that you remembered to wear green to avoid getting pinched! I wore some green makeup to celebrate the occasion.

Instead of doing the typical green smokey look, chose to go for an intense green eyeliner with a flick. Using GOSH's Extreme liner. (I actually used a blue one and added green pigment to it). These are fabulous by the way! I really should pick up some more.

AND! I was in such a festive mood I wrote a little limerck!


There was a girl at Sephora

Highlighter and blush
gave her such a rush
Her face had quite an aura!
